A household name in the Irish hospitality industry since it opened its doors, Limelight Media was delighted to work with The g Hotel in Galway on this significant rebranding project.

The five-star destination hotel and spa prides itself on matching luxury service and facilities with a warmth that resonates throughout every stay, whether getting a cosy night’s sleep, enjoying fine dining on site, or resetting from life’s hectic vibes in the sanctuary of the hotel’s much-praised spa.

Limelight Media Approach

An essential element in any brand identity design process, the Limelight Media team first enveloped itself in the surrounds and ideals of The g Hotel and its staff. To create a modern and authentic visual identity that matched with visitor expectations, the hotel’s own story – past and future – needed to flow through.

From the richness and contrasting colours including in the logo and fresh new brand colour palette, to the detail considered in designing the typography, fonts, and brand patterns – every element had to both resonate with The g Hotel’s regular customers and cut through the noise within a competitive industry sector to find the business’ target audience, both domestic and international.

From cocktail menus to door keys, dressing robes, and digital design assets, the hotel’s new brand identity exudes luxury at every touch point and conveys the uniqueness of a stay at ‘The g’ through colour, imagination, and design.

Impact

In taking on the challenge of rebranding a well-known entity such as The g Hotel, the Limelight Media design team first had to understand the motivations in desiring change and the expectations of the business into the future.

In developing a carefully cultivated set of design assets, a core consideration was the multiple physical and digital formats for which designs would be needed and used around the premises.
